A Madison grand jury has indicted a man on an attempted murder charge in connection with a stabbing that occurred last summer on Peytontown Road. Jason Keith Blair, 38, of Mount Vernon, also was indicted on charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and three counts of first-degree persistent felony offender.

Madison Drug no longer party in CVS lawsuit

A Richmond pharmacy sued last year by national chain CVS has been dismissed from the lawsuit. CVS asked the federal judge to remove defendant Spencer Drugs, which operates under the name Madison Drug at 110 Big Hill Ave., as a party to the litigation. CVS and Spencer Drugs agreed to pay their own costs and fees, according to court documents. U.S. Judge Karl S. Forester granted the motion Jan. 28.

Man facing drug charges indicted in jail assault

A Michigan man in the Madison County Detention Center facing kidnapping and drug-trafficking charges was indicted last week in the assault of another inmate. A woman accused of helping her then-boyfriend flee after he shot a man on Race Street last year pleaded guilty to facilitation to first-degree assault Thursday in Madison Circuit Court. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Jennifer Smith recommended Nicole Transeau, 20, receive a sentence of five years in prison, probated for two years under supervision.
