Judge rejects death-sentence appeal of Keys killer

Convicted triple-murderer Thomas Overton lost his latest bid to overturn his death sentence Tuesday. In a 14-page ruling, Monroe County Circuit Court Judge Mark Jones rejected claims presented by Overton's appellate lawyers at a January hearing as "absolutely baseless" and "devoid of merit."
